- Chronic pain is often caused by imbalances in your structure. When your muscles and fascia don't have the proper length-tension relationships, these imbalances can manifest as pain.
- I'll give you the tools to resolve chronic pain and help you recover from nagging injuries that are holding you back from living your life to the fullest.
- When other methods fail to work, Functional Patterns has an excellent track record of not only getting people out of pain, but helping people stay out of pain for good. This is because the method addresses issues at the root cause rather than simply treating symptoms. -
- In my training, I use Functional Patterns’ unique approach, which works with the body’s myofascial sling system. This method has delivered remarkable results for people dealing with neurodegenerative disorders, scoliosis, rounded shoulders, swayback, and other postural imbalances
-
-While other systems encourage people to move in an unrealistic fixed box, Functional Patterns trains people to move in a 3-dimensional reality.
We apply the Functional Patterns method using a four-step process to get to the root of your biomechanical imbalances.
Here’s what the FP process looks like
We will assess your imbalances which will provide us key insights to help guide your training based on what you need.
1-Posture & Gait Assessment
We will teach you how to apply self-massage techniques using cheap and easily obtainable tools such as lacrosse balls, soft balls, medicine balls, and PVC pipes.
2-Guided Self-Myofascial Release
We will apply Functional Patterns corrective exercises to apply enough stimulus to your tissues to fundamentally change your structure and movement.
3-Corrective Exercises
Once a base of movement has been established, you will be taught how to apply your new found muscular connections dynamically with Functional Patterns dynamic exercises.
4-Dynamic Exercises

FP practitioners are trained to make virtual sessions just as successful as in-person sessions. Although giving and taking instructions over webcam provides some challenges, you can rest assured that training functional patterns online with a certified practitioner can yield amazing results.

You'll need the following equipment to participate effectively:
Cameras: You can use one device, such as a smartphone or a laptop, but having two—like two smartphones or a smartphone and a laptop—will provide the practitioner with better insights. A tripod is helpful, though not required.
Self-Massage Tools:
A foam roller
A lacrosse or tennis ball
A TheraCane
Training Tools: While having a variety of tools enhances the effectiveness of your exercises, you can start with minimal equipment. Essential items include:
A set of 10-pound dumbbells
A 3-pound slam ball
A Bosu ball
Ankle weights
Ankle straps
Access to a cable or pulley machine is highly preferable; if unavailable, resistance bands with handles will suffice
An open space to work out
A mirror for self-observation
With these essentials, you'll be well-prepared to get started!

The short answer is yes, we have helped many people recover after injuries and get back to the activities they enjoy.
Most injuries stem from bad biomechanics that result in imbalances and weaknesses in certain parts of the body which then leads to restricted range of motion and mobility. When one part atrophies and becomes underused, another part compensates for it and becomes overused. This imbalance leaves you more prone to injury. FP Training will give you an understanding of proper mechanics so that you can address the root cause of your issues and re-program your body to engage and bring unused parts online to function in a more balanced way.

Most definitely. Your ability to build and maintain muscle is directly related to how well you move. In order to move well, your muscles need to function in an integrated fashion with one another. By learning proper mechanics, you will ingrain functional patterns of movement into your body so that you can build and maintain muscles that serve specific purpose that relates to your biological blueprint as a human, especially when you stand, walk, run, and throw – which you will do your entire life!

No, it is not a prerequisite, but we highly recommend completing the FP 10 week online course or purchasing it in tandem with your training. We have found that clients who engage with this course tend to have a faster rate of learning and get a much quicker/substantial results.
